Projec! IEP City of Eugene - Hatmaker- Johnston <br /> Plan of Operation <br /> Overall, the West Eugene Wetlands (WEW) Project promotes public awareness of wetland concepts and unique <br /> features of the area and encourages outdoor experiences through education and interpretation. Up to 250,000 adults and <br /> children living in the Eugene urban area and surrounding rural communities will benefit from the eventual construction of <br /> a Wetland Education Center and accompanying outdoor facilities. (See Appendix A for maps of location and future <br /> facility). The present proposal, Project IEP, is a vital step toward accomplishing the overall goals. This project will: <br /> (a) develop the conceptual design of the Wetland Education facility; and (b) promote the planning, development and <br /> evaluation of a unified theme, marketing tools, and training materials. Table 1 below provides an overview of six <br /> objectives and major tasks to be accomplished during this 12 -month project. <br /> Table 1. Overview of the Project IEP Objectives and Tasks/Activities. <br /> Principal Objective #1: Develop Architectural Renderings and Models of Outdoor Wetland Facility <br /> • Refine conceptual design. • Provide program update. <br /> • Research and create sustainable design strategies. • Provide administration for Architectural Component. <br /> • Complete cost estimate. • Develop a Template, Design Strategy and Production for the <br /> • Develop fundraising documents. Create presentation materials. Determine trails & interpretive sites. • Provide Business Plan content. <br /> • Determine themes, design criteria & story lines.
