I am sorry to hear that our letter was scanned for anthrax <br /> and arrived so late. This email is a follow up to our conversation and contains the specific request for a No <br /> Cost Time Extension for Grant R215K010095 as we discussed. <br /> We would like to exercise our option to extend the grant performance period to June 30, 2003 (one year). <br /> This request is based on the following need: <br /> 1.) Our timelines for meeting with teachers is challenging since it is the end of the school year and there <br /> are many demands on their time including our request for their review. <br /> 2.) It has taken longer than expected to initiate contracts and formulate agreements with specialists who are <br /> working on certain components of our project. <br /> 3.) We expect to be substantially completed by December but we would like to allow for the variance of <br /> time in the event that personnel changes occur or contracts need to be altered. <br /> 4.) We need this time to complete our objectives and to finalize our products and evaluation. <br /> 5.) The cost for the remaining project work is approximately $52,500 as of the time of this note. To date <br /> we have not completed a drawdown on this grant. We attempted to do so today and found that the GAPs <br /> website was inaccessible. We anticipate a drawdown of approximately $76,000 today or as soon as <br /> technical matters are fixed with the website. <br /> Please let me know if there is any more information that is necessary to exercise the No Cost Extension <br /> without approval for this grant.
