<br /> 1998 - present Interpretive Services Team Leader, San Bernardino National Forest, San Bernardino, California.
<br /> Coordinate planning, development, and delivery of interpretation (exhibits, signs, live
<br /> programs) and environmental education (curriculum, youth participation, school group field
<br /> trips) for Children's Forest, Big Bear Discovery Center, Fire Lookout Hosts, and Winter
<br /> Sports Hosts. Develop and implement strategies for funding programs through fees, grants,
<br /> and donor contributions. Supervise 6 staff members.
<br /> 1993 -1998 Children's Forest Director, San Bernardino National Forest, San Bernardino, California.
<br /> Guide the development of a stable cooperating association that is supported through fee -
<br /> based programs, foundations, and donors ($100 - 200K annually) to effectively provide
<br /> opportunities for young people to participate in the planning, development, and delivery of
<br /> education, visitor information, and ecosystem management for a 3,400 acre section of
<br /> National Forest. Supervise a staff of 5 employees to facilitate youth leadership programs,
<br /> develop curriculum, present interpretive and environmental education programs.
<br /> 1991 -1992 Exhibit Design Coordinator, San Bernardino National Forest, San Bernardino, California.
<br /> Developed and facilitated a design process that included engineers, designers, biologists,
<br /> historians, architects, artists, and landscape architects to develop Z700 square feet of exhibits
<br /> for Big Bear Discovery Center. Wrote and administered the contract for $150,000 of design
<br /> services.
<br /> 1990 Interpretive Sign Writer, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, Amboy, Washington.
<br /> Coordinated a design team of scientists, interpretive specialists, graphic designers, and
<br /> illustrators to plan and develop interpretive panels. Researched and wrote interpretive text
<br /> 1986 -1989 Tour Company Division Manager, Alaska Sightseeing Tours, Ketchikan, Alaska.
<br /> Coordinated the operation of the Ketchikan division of a statewide tour company to provide
<br /> interpretive tours, shuttle services, and tourist information and sales. During the winter
<br /> season, recruited and trained tour guides and coordinated plans for summer operations.
<br /> Expanded the program to serve three times the level of travelers as previous years.
<br /> Seasonal 1985 Environmental Education Specialist, Multnomah County Outdoor School, Portland, Oregon.
<br /> Developed a program of activities and facilitated-staff, both adult and youth, to teach
<br /> fundamental principles about plants to sixth grade students.
<br /> Seasonal 1983, 84, 85 Interpretive Naturalist, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, Amboy, Washington. developed and presented scheduled, thematic interpretive programs including
<br /> walks, talks and evening programs for audiences of up to 250 visitors of all ages to tell the
<br /> geological, biological, and cultural stories of Mount St. Helens. Assisted with development
<br /> and testing of an environmental education program.
