Of St. Joseph County, South Bend, IN -1990 -1991 <br /> The Troyer Group, Professional Design Architects, Mishawaka, IN- 1989 -1990 <br /> REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE <br /> Looking glass McKay Lodge Residential Treatment Facility— Stepping Stone Program <br /> Projert Role: Manager <br /> WBGS was the lead firm for this standard setting residential treatment building on the Lane County Juvenile justice <br /> Campus. The scale of thefadlity and the orientation of the program elements within, give a home -like appearance <br /> while providing the security and supervision required. To control costs, the building is designed as a single story <br /> wood firanie structure. Exterior materials include concrete masonry veneer and aluminum window systems to reduce <br /> long term maintenance costs. <br /> Lane County Juvenile Justice Center Residential Treatment Facilities <br /> Project Role: Project Manager <br /> These two residential treatment facilities are part of the rehabilitation components at the lane County Juvenile Justice <br /> Center Campus, which is currently under construction. The buildings will each house 21 youths, both male and <br /> female, who will live and go to school on the premises. The combinations of exterior courtyard areas with covered <br /> walkways and landscaping provide an oasis for the residents. The buildings were built of wood construction with <br /> ��osed glue -lams and exterior masonry veneer. Clerestory gable dormers and porch entries complete the <br /> St. Vincent de Paul—Sheldon Plaza Housing <br /> Project Rolc Project Manager . <br /> In a dose working relationship with St. Vincent de Paul, WBGS developed a proposed design for affordable housing <br /> which emphasizes accessibility and common open space. The project consists of 83 housing units in a mixture of types <br /> to encourage a variety of tenants from families to singles of all ages. The orientation of homes addressed the direct <br /> relationship of front door and sidewalk access. Further, active living spaces were configured to encourage "eyes -on" <br /> supervision of outdoor common areas. A mixture of family and single units are located on the ground floor of r direct <br /> access to outdoor private and public yards in addition to increased accessibility to mobility-impaired tenants. - <br /> Ms. Lawson was the Project Manager of the residential treatment facilities onflee Lane County Juvenile Justice Campus. <br /> Ms. Lawson's duties included overseeing design, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration for the two <br /> 12,000 sf low security facilities totaling 4 million dollars in construction costs.
