A representative from Rose City Awning called to report that ten feet of material would be lost from the <br /> end of the flag in order to repair it. The repair would render the flag square in shape (i.e., 15' x 15'). Because it would no longer <br /> be appropriate to display that flag atop Skinner Butte, I instructed Rose City to dispose of it as unrepairable. A new 15' x 25' U.S. <br /> flag will cost $629.60. I have yet not placed an order. (We will not need the 15' x 25' flag until Memorial Day 2008.) In reviewing <br /> my last note to you below, I see that we have enough money left in the account to purchase the 15' x 25' flag. Would you consider <br /> authorizing the purchase at this time, or would you prefer that we wait until February 2008? The 10' x 19' flag that we just raised <br /> is new and should not need to be replaced until 2009. (That is, it should last two seasons.) However, the 15' x 25' flag was new <br /> and lasted only one season. In any event, I can send you a funding request early next year for flag replacements that will be <br /> needed in 2009 and 2010 as you requested.
