The meeting was held at Lane <br /> Jim Denker Community College with Harland Yriarte generously providing us lunch. <br /> School District 52 The minutes were approved as written. <br /> Bethel <br /> Barry Bokn <br /> Fundraising & Implementation of Oregon Community Foundation Grant <br /> University of Oregon Charles Warren reported that they have had three lunches to date and have <br /> Sandy Vaughn raised $31,000. They still have 120 pledges pending. They are still waiting for <br /> Lane Community College the status on the 4th luncheon to be held for Springfield donors. They have <br /> Harland L. Yriarte notified OCF about raising the $25,000 for the challenge grant and are <br /> awaiting a check. Kidsports will be the Banker for the OCF grant. <br /> River Road Parks & Rec. <br /> Bob Josephson reported that they are still looking at regional sites for <br /> Willamalane Parks & Rec. implementation of the Sports Plan. Graham, Jefferson, Westmoreland, and the <br /> Wayne Hill <br /> Fairgrounds sites are being considered. Second year sites are South Eugene/ <br /> Convention & Visitors Assoc. Amazon, Roosevelt, and the Coburg Road site which belongs to Eugene 4 J <br /> of Lane County School District. Springfield sites are Thurston High School, and the Sports <br /> Sal Piazza Center. <br /> Kidsports <br /> Bob Josephson Charlie Warren reported that Barbara Keller and Jim Torrey had sponsored a - <br /> Vice Chairperson study to acquire new park land. There is currently an effort by the Mayor and <br /> City Council for park acquisition and Eugene may be looking to do a bond <br /> measure. They tried to take all the interested parties who might be able to come <br /> Members At Large: up with a Bond measure that could win with the voters, including Metropolitan <br /> Tom Costabile <br /> Connie Gray Jaqua Sports Commission, Field of Dreams, City of Eugene, League of Women <br /> Tom Jordan Voters, and The Fresh Group. <br /> Larry Mann <br /> Charles Warren Facilities Report <br /> Jim Denker has met with his maintenance staff and has come back with a <br /> favorable response to coordinating the agencies for maintenance of fields. <br /> Sandy Vaughn will check with Tim King on maintenance of University of <br /> Oregon fields. <br /> Metropolitan Sports Commission Minutes - Page I of 3 <br />
