The Ribbon Trail was <br /> created, which added an additional mile of new trail to the Ridgeline Trail System. This new trail allows <br /> neighbors to bring nature close to home and also provides and alternate mode of transportation, namely walking <br /> and biking. Also, several waterways were improved by providing better conveyance through the removal of <br /> horizontal tree and shrub limbs growing into the waterway; higher habital value through the removal of invasive <br /> species within the riparian edge; and better water quality by removing garbage and other debris within the <br /> various waterways throughout Eugene. Also, new jobs were created in the community which would not have <br /> been possible without this stimulus funded grant, plus new job skills were developed by young adults to help <br /> them become more sucessful in today's job market within the Eugene community. <br /> Work Skills Learned Project Outcomes <br /> 1.
