SAFETY AWARDS 1 INCENTIVES <br />1 Year Award A safety pin is awarded to all regular non - exempt <br />employees who work a calendar year without a lost time <br />accident. Lost time is when an employee misses a full <br />work shift and is unable to start work on their next <br />scheduled shift. <br />Progressive Award Awarded in 5 year increments of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and <br />30 years to any regular non - exempt worker who has <br />worked 5 years or more consecutively without a lost <br />time accident. Each employee receives a safety jacket <br />and hat, has their name engraved on a plate and mounted <br />on the corresponding plaque, and receives a framed <br />certificate with a copy of the certificate placed in their <br />personnel file. <br />Award of Excellence This is recognition given by the Public Works Director <br />to an individual or section. A crew award is given to any <br />crew that collectively works one calendar year without <br />a lost time accident. <br />SAFETY PRIZES ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS <br />Progressive Prize Any current employee who has ever received a <br />progressive award and is non -exempt. One chance for <br />every 5 years earned. (2 prizes) <br />1 Year Prize Anyone receiving a 1 year award at the current award <br />ceremony. (2 prizes) <br />Door Prize Any employee. (2 prizes) <br />Winners of above prizes are drawn. Only one prize per employee. <br />Employees must be present to win. <br />
