Eugene Blair <br />Utility Permits & Inspections <br />Utility locating is always crazy, but this last year, a good portion of the <br />city had new underground and overhead facilities installed to deliver high <br />speed data access, and the volume of utility work was literally staggering. <br />Utility locator Eugene Blair stepped up to the plate, and, although he <br />consistently worked 50 hours a week, he kept going and going ... with a <br />smile. He knew this was a job that needed to be completed and had to <br />meet deadlines. It takes a special person to be able to focus on what might <br />seem to be an endless task and not become stressed -out by the sheer <br />volume. This kind of dedication deserves recognition. <br />On top of the workload at work, he still found time to harvest raspberries <br />and occasionally bring some in to share with his teammates during berry <br />season. <br />It is apparently Eugene's golf game, however, that has suffered the most <br />with this additional workload. According to his coworkers, they're hoping <br />the work subsides because "he needs all the practice he can get." It <br />19 <br />
