CHAPTER IV <br />Volunteer Programs <br />H -24. Continue emphasizing community involvement and <br />volunteerism to involve individuals, groups, and businesses in <br />the planning, design, maintenance, operation, and <br />programming of parks and recreation facilities. <br />H -25. Further develop a coordinated volunteer recruitment, training, <br />and recognition program. <br />H -26. Develop additional volunteer opportunities for youth and <br />expand recruitment of youth volunteers by attending school <br />community service days. <br />H -27. Consider establishing a volunteer patrol program where adults <br />volunteer to be present in parks to deter inappropriate <br />activities and report issues or problems. <br />H -28. Increase development of volunteer opportunities for people <br />with disabilities. <br />H -29. Continue and expand the park adoption program to promote <br />adoption of all significant parks, recreation, and open space <br />facilities. <br />I. Management <br />Administration <br />1 -1. Improve coordination between the Public Works and Library, <br />Recreation, and Cultural Services (LRCS) Departments and the <br />various divisions within each of the departments. <br />1 -2. Continue developing a work environment that promotes trust, <br />respect, open communication, and teamwork between all <br />levels of staff. <br />1 -3. Build effective working relationships throughout the City of <br />Eugene to address common goals with staff in Public Safety, <br />Facilities, Finance, and other divisions within Public Works and <br />LRCS. <br />1 -4. Regularly evaluate the employment needs of the Public Works <br />and LRCS Departments. <br />1 -5.
