•' 27
INFORMED BALLOT QUESTIONS
Questions 7a through 7f
These questions were designed to gauge support levels for the possible ballot questions after
respondents had received information about the current state of and proposals for a ballot
measure on athletic facilities, open spaces, and parks.
There were several broad patterns observable among the responses to these questions.
1. The informed ballot responses were more supportive than in the case of the initial set of ballot
questions.
2. Expenditures for maintenance were preferred to expansion. This parallels the responses to the
ballot measure component questions.
3. The greatest change was in the support for new athletic facilities. Apparently, this was due to
the new information provided. This would then amplify the apparent lack of information
indicated by the relatively higher don't knows in question lc vs. questions lb and ld.
4. The most support generally came most strongly from younger and middle -aged resondents and
those with children. Generally, respondents from west Eugenewere more opposed and had lower
don't knows than other demographic groups.
