The comment period for the updated rules will begin on <br />November 11 th and continue for 15 days. <br />The highlights of the rule update are: <br />1. Expand the definition and application of the rules to clarify that the rules apply to open space <br />lands administered and maintained by the Park and Open Space Division. <br />2. Add clarity on the procedures and requirements for obtaining park use and special event <br />permits. <br />3. Amend regulations to prohibit possession or comsumption of alcoholic beverages in park <br />shelters without first obtaining a permit. <br />4. Amend regulations to add a prohibition regarding use of an area that is not open for public <br />use. <br />5. Add clarity to regulations that prohibit unattended and unsupervised pets, and to amend the <br />off -leash provisions. <br />6. Add additional prohibitions regarding vandalism and litter. <br />7.
