MATSLER Clara T
From: BROTHERTON Kathryn
Sent: Monday, May 07, 2012 2:13 PM
To: MATSLER Clara T
Cc: MEDLIN Johnny R; KAMKAR Sam S
Subject: Scheduling of the Lewis/Winston /Gambill /Barstow Park Exclusion Appeals
I was just about to hit send on my e -mail when I received yours. Let me know if this doesn't answer your
questions.
Hi Clara,
Sorry for the delay in getting this e -mail off to you.
I spoke with Lauren Regan on Friday afternoon regarding the scheduling of the appeals of the four park Notices
of Restriction of Use. Lauren agreed that it made sense to consolidate the Derek Lewis, Tracy Winston and
Shandy Gambill appeals into one appeal (same facts and police officers involved for these three individuals)
and then have a separate appeal for Angela Bartow; with the intent of having the two appeals occur one after the
other.
I will defer to Johnny regarding likely length of time, but it seems like 2 hours should be enough time to cover
all of the appeals. I did let Lauren know that these appeals are extremely informal; she and I talked about a 1 -2
hour time for the appeals.
Lauren is not available for the appeal hearings until Friday, May 11. Please try to schedule the appeal hearings
for the afternoon on Friday, no early than 1:30 If Friday afternoon does not work, Monday, May 14 would be
the next option.
Sgt. Crompton is the lead for the Lewis /Winston/Cambell appeal. Officers Bremer and Terry issued the
Notices, so we should probably have them attend as well, but I will defer to Sgt. Crompton regarding who all is
best to attend the appeal hearing.
Officer Schulke is the lead for the Bartow appeal and he can let you know if there are additional officers that
should attend the appeal hearing.
Kathryn Brotherton
Assistant City Attorney
City of Eugene
This message is a confidential communication under the attorney - client or attorney work product privilege.
This message should not be forwarded or copied without first checking with me.
oqrQO
