Driving Range
Prior to Market Properties operation the Driving Range was in bare minimum stage with the
opportunity to be a credible practice facility.
During the 2007 season, into the 2008 and even at the present moment we are doing our best to
improve the Practice Area /Driving Range. We Initially started working on the berm around the driving
range in order to increase the distance of the area. Due to the advancements of modern technology in golf
club production, many people are hitting the ball farther. This caused for a significant amount of lost range
balls, as well as, increased labor hours and maintenance around the fence. With the fence gone and the
berm expanded, we believe this will cut costs significantly. Next on the agenda was the aesthetic
appearance of the driving range area. Practice must be fun and challenging. Customers stated they were
just hitting balls into no -man's land with no purpose or significance to direction of the golf ball. We brought
in 300 loads of dirt to be distributed for 10 targets (see attached drawing) and the continuation of the berm.
This was delivered at a price totaling $15,000. Braun Excavating distributed the dirt at a cost of $6,880. We
also bought brand new Nike range balls at a cost of $4,165 to enhance the satisfaction of the customer's
ball striking. This renovation carne to a grand total of $26,045. (This does not include any Iabor by
Laurelwood staff).
Proposed driving range improvements:
*fix cart path ($10,000)
*clear and widen upper range ($7,500)
*add new netting system ($5500)
*repair current unlevel lower range with concrete ($3,600)
*irrigate range ($5000)
We truly believe this renovation increased the sales of our Driving Range. Below are the numbers
exhibiting this fact.
3 months (Oct. — Dec.) Description Total
2047 Market Properties $4,069
2008 Market Properties $7,182
2009 Market Properties $7,493
Year Description Total
2046 Iry Carlisle $60,593
2008 Market Properties $64,381
2009 Market Properties $73,082
We believe the driving range by 2017 can generate an income of $150,000 per year if better access
is created and the number of stalls is increased.
