3.11.2 Aerate <br />a. Contractor shall aerate tees in the spring and once in the fall, one to <br />three passes <br />b. Aerating may need to be performed more often on heavily used areas <br />3.11.3 Fertilization <br />a. Contractor shall fertilize tees as needed to provide healthy, vigorous turf <br />b. 3 l 6 pounds, N/1000 square feet per year <br />c: Fertilizer shall be chosen based on soil test analysis <br />d. Minimize phosphorus applications when possible <br />3.11 A Pest Management <br />a. Use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) methodology <br />b. Overseed each fall to all fairway areas <br />b. Blue Label Perennial seed shall be used <br />3.12 Greens <br />3.12.1 Mowing <br />a. March 1st through October 31 daily <br />and November 1 st through February 28 as needed <br />b. Grass shall be 3/16" to 5/16" height or to maintain healthy turf that is <br />suitable for green speeds <br />c. Remove dew each day if not mowed <br />3.12.2 Cup Changing <br />a. March 1 st through October 31 daily <br />and November 1st through February 28 as needed <br />b. Rotate cup location depending on green condition <br />3.12.3 Maintenance of Cups, Pins, and Flags <br />a. Cups shall be replaced every three to four years <br />b. Pins shall be painted every year and replaced every four years <br />c. Flags shall be replaced as needed <br />3.12.4 Aerate <br />a. Contractor shall aerate greens a minimum of four times per year; twice in <br />the spring and twice in the fall using hollow tines, removing cores <br />followed by topdressing <br />b. Contractor shall aerate two times each year between June 1 st and <br />September 30 using solid tines followed by topdressing <br />c. Aerating may need to be performed more often during the summer <br />3.12.5 Topdressing <br />
