HAMMITT Bob
From: SWANSON GRIBSKOV Laurie
To: HAMMITT Bob
Subject: RE: Memo on Laurel Hill Park Irrigation (& turfgrass renovation)
Date: Wednesday, March 06, 1996 9:43AM
Thanks for update. I saw the final copy of the letter in my packet.
Laurie
From: HAMMITT Bob
To: SWANSON GRIBSKOV Laurie
Subject: RE: Memo on Laurel Hill Park Irrigation (& turfgrass renovation)
Date: Tuesday, February 27, 1996 6:13AM
Draft is on my desk for review. We have been investigating some ideas to improve the system within the
limits of our operating budget. In a nutshell, the pipe is in relative good condition, installation of the
Maxicom system replaced the old controller, and we are currently exploring different types of heads that
will improve the coverage within the confines of the current system. We are confident that a new head
recently put on the market will work. Once that is done we will do a turf renovation project next fall. If the
new heads do not work it gets more complicated and we will have to spread the work out over two years.
Expansion of the system into the unirrigated area is beyond our capacity to do within the operations budget
. We will foward this project to the long list for consideration within the capital budget. As you are aware
most of the capital budget is for preservation of existing facilities and not for system expansion. The letter
should be out in the next couple of days if the snow doesn't get too deep. Sorry its taken so long. We
have taken some time to explore solutions so I think the result will be worth the wait. Bob
From: SWANSON GRIBSKOV Laurie
To: HAMMITT Bob
Subject: RE: Memo on Laurel Hill Park Irrigation (& turfgrass renovation)
Date: Monday, February 26, 1996 1:48PM
Bob, I've lost track. Has response to Laurel Hill Neighbors been mailed?
Laurie
From: HAMMITT Bob
To: *Councilor Swanson Gribskov
Subject: FW: Memo on Laurel Hill Park Irrigation (& turfgrass renovation)
Date: Friday, February 09, 1996 1:38PM
Parks supervisor, Tim Rhay, prepared the attached information
regarding Laurel Hill Pk. Its probably more than you want
however was easy to foward. I need to sit down with Tim and
determine exactly what can be done within our existing budget
and when. I am going to try to get this done next week and
prepare a response (if it stops freezing, blowing, and
raining). Would you like to see a draft before I send ?? I will
include info that we delayed other projects to make this
happen inorder to prevent further loss of unique trees.
I have asked John to send Mylie a letter regarding Washburn.
We will also notify the Fairmount Neighbors about the proposed
improvements. Am also going to get a paragraph in the council
newsletter explaining rational for delaying other projects
inorder to accomplish Washburn project.
Sorry its taken me so long to get to all this. Let me know if
you need additional info. Bob
From: RHAY Tim W
To: HAMMITT Bob
Page 1
