The vacant field you are referring to is currently planned
for development this summer. NEDCO is developing a low- income subdivision called "Field of Dreams" with
Lane County paying for the street and road drainage facilities and the City charging NEDCO for the sanitary
sewer system through a planned LID. NEDCO is also negotiating the donation of a future park site with the City.
Construction of the public improvements should be very soon since the County near awarding the construction
contract. We are awaiting a final plat and we are anticipating final approval of the construction plans any day
now. NEDCO is very anxious to get the work completed this year. Hopefully the development will resolve the
safety issue. NEDCO is consistent with the weed abatement program and it would be difficult to justify
independent action by PW especially given that construction activity will be very soon. I hope this addresses
your concern. If not please let me know. It was the second in recent time. The neighbors are doing what they can, and have large dogs as added
protection. But one difficulty is visibility, and another is ability to run quickly away from danger - the problem is
the piece of property at the end of Coraly, west of Maple. It's a large field. NEDCO contracted to mow a 50'
swath, but is financially unable to mow the entire field. Any chance that PW could help out and mow another 50'
swath, or more? The neighbors are very uneasy right now.
Nancy N.
Page 1
