After completing the required 3 inch cold plane pavement removal, the <br />th <br />remaining 5 inches of asphalt on 13 failed. We must reconstruct the street. I completed an independent estimate of <br />the changed work, and have received unit prices from the contractor (Knife River). The Contractors price is within 4% of <br />my estimate. The initial value of the contract was $199,991.00. The increase amount is approximately $121,000, <br />making the new contract total ~$320,000. <br /> <br />I am requesting authorization to increase the contract in excess of 25%.
