<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />November 1, 2013 <br /> <br />CONTACT: Lee Shoemaker, Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator, 541-682-5471 <br /> <br />From Public Information Section, 541-682-5523 or 541-954-2938 <br /> <br />FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> <br /> <br />Eugene Seeks Members for Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee <br /> <br />The City of Eugene seeks residents who are interested in serving on the Bicycle and <br />Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC). <br />BPAC advises City staff, community organizations, and partner agencies on implementation <br />of the Pedestrian and Bicycle Strategic Plan. The panel also represents community and constituent <br />interests in transportation planning decisions and provides feedback to staff on projects relating to <br />walking and bicycling. <br />BPAC members play a vital role in implementing the Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan, <br />which will shape the future of the pedestrian and bicycling system for the next 20 years and make <br />Eugene an even greater place for people who walk and bicycle. <br />Recruitment is under way to fill vacancies for two-year terms. Applicants must reside <br />within Eugene’s Urban Growth Boundary and be willing to attend monthly meetings and read <br />background materials provided by City staff.
